I had a good experience with DCC, I called for problems with credit cards and my mortgage, while they could not help with my credit cards ( I was to far behind) they did provide a loan modification counseling at no cost. I think my wife and I can do this on our own, we are happy about that. Scott was very helpful at DCC

If you actually plan on getting your bills paid off soon, I would not recommend them. I made a few payments, and they claim you can track everything online, however that is not the case. It is never updated. When I would call up there I would talk to someone, and they would say one thing, but mean another. One person said my payment, was being sent out on the 23rd, but online it said the 16th. And regardless my creditors had not received a payment, nor even a letter from Delray claiming they are handling my debt. Then when I try to cancel they say, its no problem to cancel, however the 300 dollars I sent them is nonrefundable. I was unaware of this, of course. They forget to mention those small details, when they’re setting up everything. Is that how they get you?? Take a few payment and wait months to send your money out, so that people cancel and they can keep the money you sent them??? I would definitely recommend paying the bills yourself if you can manage, or just go to a different company, because I believe Delray wants you to send them money, however they don’t want to send THAT money to YOUR creditors.

I originally had 5 accounts. I gave $190 deposit. After about a month I asked to remove one account and a year later 3 more accounts leaving one account left. I asked if I would be penalized in ANY way for removing some accounts and was told I would not. What they failed to say was that removing any credit accounts would be considered “terminating” my account with delray and would be forfeiting my deposit. Interesting, because that seems like a penalty to me! Wouldn’t it have been great if someone had said “If you remove any credit accounts you forfeit your deposit”? Also I continued to pay the account remaining on my delray account thinking that my account wasn’t terminated. Had I know it was terminated I could have saved the monthly fee of $35 they tagged onto my payments and just paid my last account directly. It’s too bad they don’t spell out what they consider termination of delray account, really too bad that their associates don’t have any clue what a penalty is, truly terrible that this company doesn’t think it a priority to answer the questions we ask fully and completely making sure that we don’t come out damaged in the end. There is no problem with their system there is a problem with their lack of operating in good faith by neglecting details of penalization toward their clients. I’d suggest no one participate in this program. Call the creditors yourself, write to them, negotiate your terms. Best idea for everyone!!
